"5-pointed Star" in "Bright-Cutting".

  In this tutorial essay on "Bright-Cutting", these steps were not easy. They were at a Difficulty Stage of 25 out of 10. Either we did this cutting at 100% perfection, or the whole ring was scrapped.

 This was 5 decades before Computer Designing came on the scene. If we were scrapping too many rings we were asked to leave the company. Those days the management weren't messing around.

 We had to be 100% perfect in our use of our gravers. Even today, my techniques haven't waivered one iota.

========================================

  As a visual guide for the Onglette cutting. I scribed 5 lines where the 5 important beads will be located.

  In the front of these roughly scribed lines, I started to create those 5-beads. Examine where the top bead is to be located, it has to be in the center of the wedding band. This will be my stating point for the remaining 4 beads.

 I'm now using my Onglette #1 graver, as this will separate metal from around the 5 beads. Please use only a thin graver (#1) to start the cutting. Don't forget to cut the first line DEEP!
 You need the depth for the next step of cutting..

 On the next line of cutting, will be made to continue the lines to make a 5-pointed star s being shown here. Don't forget to use your "MILGRAIN TOOL' This will give you a great feature in finishing the pattern.

 As on the previous displayed patterns, use a Bead-Burnisher to push over and down those new Beads onto the stone.
 I'd prefer if you could make a cut with your Onglette #2 to clean out the metal behind the beads. I'd prefer if the beads were standing up by themselves.

 Just to review this procedure examine the many steps, my photos don't really need to be explained again!

  When you master this technique, nothing will stop you from placing them on the many rings that you have been avoiding.
