"Discipline overcame fear" in setting this Pear shape Emerald. (4 photos)

How did "Discipline overcome any fear" of Diamond Setting

Here is the most difficult technique I as a Diamond Setter learned was setting a Pear-Shaped 5.25 carat Emerald into a Full Bezel Frame. I was given an option of ignoring my clients wishes or setting this luxurious $15,000.00 Emerald.

"If you are afraid in doing difficult projects, then stick with the basic claw setting". Just remember that 'all of us' at one time will be nervous, so was I in my earlier years. But we all persevered and trained ourselves to be what we all are today.

Here is the necklace that the other two setters refused to attempt this monumental task, the Emerald had numerous inclusions inside of the point of the Pavilion.

I studied the stone and made a decision to make history for myself. Basically, it then culminated to be the wisest decision that I could ever make.

Not only was the Full Bezel be secure, it also added lustre to the stone. As I used my "Reciprocating Hammer" to set this expensive Emerald, never once I thought about the repercussions of 'breakage'.

This essay is not about how I set this stone, but overcoming any fear of setting it.

"CAD Bracelet" - (Original renderings & Silver photos) - 24 photos.

These renderings were all computer drawn along with measurement for every aspect of this "Miami-Cuban" bracelet.

From these computerized renderings, the computer created the actual wax-carving and then the actual casting took place.

Texts for any of these photos are not necessarily required.

With the dimensions provided, the client can easily decide which karat of the metal to use. There is no need to guess and have any sudden 'weight to cost' surprises.

These photos are showing the actual links in silver during the stone setting.

If you wish to copy the details and produce this 'linked bracelet', you are cordially invited to do so.
