Only "77B Cup burs" - 10 photos

This "77B" cup bur is a remarkable tool as it transforms a simple claw setting into a smooth (to the touch) stone holding claw.

This bur packet is of a "050" size, this means the bur measures 5.0 mms. in diameter.

In this packet of bur sizes, the range is from 1.5mm's to 4.5mm's in diameter.

This a random sampling of my inventory of various burs & shapes. Every Diamond Setter needs to have all of these burs available at a moments notice. You can see that I included the "77B" Cup Bur.

No matter what claw setting I'm working on, the claw tips must be completed by using a Cup Bur.

Without a Cup Bur how can the claws be created 'smooth to the touch'. In this case it could be a pendant or a pair of earrings, every individual claw must be smooth.

Cluster-claws are especially needing the Cup Bur, why is this? As there are so many chances of a claw catching or cutting into the wearers skin, EVERY CLAW MUST BE FINISHED SMOOTH.

When even when a group of mini-claws are created, the chances of cutting into clothing are extremely high. The cup-bur will cancel out the needs of hurting the skin of the wearer, the bur used is 1.5 mm's.

Among the grouping of this cluster ring are my assortment of many sizes of burs.

In one of my recent essays is "How I removed the outer lip of the 77B Cup Bur". This simple procedure allowed the teeth to be more exposed in having these teeth cut much more easier.
