These are the front doors of an 'upscale store' in Northern Toronto, Canada. The quality of workmanship is from an era of hand-crafting. Can you imagine all of this wood carving was done by the hands of craftsmen (and maybe women)?
I took these photos yesterday and made sure that the finer details are shown.
I was totally amazed by the intricate wood-cutting. As a jeweller, I fully appreciate the time and labour that went into these wooden frames.
I know that you all would like to see the 'front door' but time was of the essence. I'd like to speak to the store owner, about it's history of the carving.
I'm just fascinated about the time these frames were carved and who & where they were made. There is so much to learn about them, agree? I have much to share with you all.
