Using your "Tripoli" and "Rouging" compounds after Diamond Setting - 8 photos

 After you finish your Diamond Setting, the cleaning processes now comes into play. Here are some very important procedures & equipment to examine.
 I'm not going to explain which compound to use or when, this is for YOU to decide. I care only about the security and luster of the metal & gemstones after stone-setting.

  I wrote an article on the "Ganoksin Jewellery Forum" Jan.18th, 2024 and here it is in it's entirety.
=================================
 After you finish with the "Tripoli" compounds, ALWAYS remove all of the residue prior using the "Rouge" polishing compounds.
 This cleaning should be done with the help of your 'Sonic-Cleaner'.
 The reasons is that in using the two compounds, this will not be a clean polishing process. Not to mention that the Tripoli will get inside the Rouge cloth-wheel layers.
 I was taught that all of the polishing wheels and compounds MUST be kept separate.

 The head-polishing supervisor of a major company requested that the two compounds must be kept into two distinct containers, with each for the two compounds.
 "Cross-contamination on any two wheels is a total NO-NO", I can't emphasize this any further.
 After each Tripoli cleaning, some companies actually 'boiled out these compounds' then 'steam-cleaned' under high water pressure. (as shown)
   Here are examples of some of the available machines for a smaller shop.

 By keeping your wheels separate prevents any form of a compound residue remaining anywhere inside the crevasses of the metal project.

 Even on the small 'Flex-Shaft, Rotating Polishing Wheel', these are also governed by the 'separation rule'.

 I sincerely hope that this tutorial has been a good exposure for your students and staff in this important cleaning procedure.
