What are (abrasive) "Sanding/Grinding Wheels"? - 9 photos

Emery or Grinding wheels are the main features in cleaning 'before, or even after' stone setting. I bought this assorted tray of burs & wheels from a large hardware stone. Many of my tools can be bought at these stores, plus they are much cheaper as well.

As many of the blog readers know from experience, these wheels are the best tools to buy and then use. These burs can be used in any flex-shaft handpiece, as they all have a 3/32" diameter.

"DREMEL" wheels are a very reliable brand name to search for. Although there are "Rio-Grande" and "GRS", but for my own bench, I won't have to be too concerned with the price of these basic burs.

These two sanding wheels have different 'grits', for the jeweller this is a very necessary 'cleaning wheel' to have.

Here are some extra 'DREMEL' wheels that came in the plastic tray that was shown at the beginning of this essay. These are not used in the Stone Setting, but I just wanted you to have a look at them up close.

These are my Pumice Wheels of #180 and the (PINK) #1,000 grit. I use them all the time in my cleaning after setting.
