"Half-Round bur" only for Cabochon, Bezel-Setting

 These unusual "cut-off" round burs CANNOT BE FOUND ANYWHERE EVEN IN YOUR LOCAL TOOL SUPPLIER. These were my own invention, honestly!!!

 You cannot buy these burs, anywhere, they have to be fabricated yourselves.
================================================

 I selected the largest Round bur that is 80% the size of the stone. The edge of that bur should be kept sharp as possible, why? The bur edge has to be cut into the metal. Your portable bench grinder does all of the removal of the metal on top of the "round" shape.

 DON'T LET THE BUR GET OVERHEATED in the grinding process. If you do, the bur will not retain that sharp edge for a long duration. (you can see the discolouration taking place). Please keep the new bur cool with cold water.

 The HSS bur just can't do this preparation as the Half-Round bur can. Errors in the "Bezel Creating" just waste your time.

 Don't even suggest for a moment that the 156C or the HSS bur will help you, They aren't made for cutting the bearings like the Half-Round bur can do.

 Those burs have a difficult time in making the bearings even all around the new bearing in the Bezel.

I made a whole set of these wonderful burs, I suggest you a few of them and see how great they work.

 If you aren't confident about this new Half-Round bur, just stay with the style of bur that you are comfortable with.

 This is the start of how the bur is to be lowered into the Bezel. The bottom of the bur being Flat, will give you a flat seat for the Cabochon stone, interesting idea?

 Don't initiate the coring with your bur held at an angle (as shown). If you do this, your stone will not be sitting flat, but totally crooked.

 Keep your bur shaft sitting upright at all times, then your stone will be sitting flat for gemstone setting.

 I would prefer if the inverted Half-Round bur be held at a 90-degree angle for the beginning of the preparation of the new bearing.

  At this point, you can see where the inverted bur is positioned inside the Bezel frame. The rotating bur cannot be the same size as the Bezel. You need total 'freedom' in the movement in creating a bearing.
