These antique diamonds were not "Full Cut" (57 facets) but they were named "Single Cut" with only 8 facets above the Girdle and another 8 Facets below.
They just didn't shine as much as todays gemstones do, pity!
These diamonds were all 'Single-Cut' stones, every stone was graded at "I,2 - I,3".
This diamond setters 'Bead-Burnisher' was pressed down unto the beads with too much force. That is why there is a thin layer of metal around each bead.
These diamonds wouldn't be acceptable in todays jewellery; aka 'YUK'.
This is the early version of 'shared beads' Diamond Setting.
This is what is known as "2-claw" Diamond Setting.
